Leake Street London

This is a legalised grafitti area in London I visited. I've always loved grafitti, I like the spontaneity, expression, accessibility, it's short life span and how it tells the story of the streets.

I remembered an amzing dance production I went to see at the Contact Theatre
http://www.contact-theatre.org/ in Manchester a couple of years ago. Called Tag vs The City. The production, directed by Jonzi D, tells the story of brilliant but obsessive graffiti writer. It explores the concept of 'physical calligraphy' using the body as paint. I loved the inventiveness of transforming the 2D art of grafitti into a moving dance production, it was so good!
